Traditional dances in Ghana come in various forms, with each dance having its own symbolic meaning depending on the occasion.
Ghana’s varied and unique ethnic groups open up a world of amazing dance techniques that are mostly seen during events that mark true Ghanaian culture.
One of such dances was showcased by outspoken lawyer and political observer Gabby Otchere-Darko when he attended a funeral recently.
In a video uploaded by Facebook user MadamAfia Akoto, the nephew of President Nana Akufo-Addo was seen in his red and black mourning attire, displaying a cultural dance to the rhythms of the drums.
Onlookers cheered him on as he moved his arms and legs to convey the symbolic message that is behind the dance. Watch the video below
Didn't know "Yaw Asante" Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko could even do a traditional dance in the first place. Awo! Only the death of a dear one will revel our hidden traits.
