Gambia’s outgoing President Yahya Jammeh declares state of emergency

Yayha Jammeh has declared a state of emergency in Gambia this evening.This came at a time the ECOWAS special forces deployed to Senegal to lead the President elect Adama Barrow to the Gambia for the inauguration which is slated for January 19.
The state of emergency means Jammeh can put aside the constitution of the country and exercise his power as a president.
Earlier today, a lot of Gambia women and children have fled to neighboring Senegal for refuge.
