Both Ayew brothers were on target in the eight goals thriller between Olympique Marseille and FC Lorient but it Jordan’s scintillating form that made the difference in the action-packed French Ligue 1 clash.
Jordan Ayew opened the scoring for the visitors on the 9th minute mark after a slotting home a perfectly weighted pass from Philoppoteaux.
Jordan, a former player of Marseille was bent on punishing his mother club and just five minutes after his goal, he assisted Bellugou to get a wonder goal for the visitors to double their lead which they took into recess.
Marseille came back strongly and rallied from behind to get two goals within 9 minutes – first from Andre Ayew in the 58th minute and then the equalizer from Morel in the 67th minute.
Resilient Lorient, who were playing the game as if it was the last of their lives, restored their lead just a minute after Marseille’s equalizer through Philoppoteaux but in-form Batshuayi sent the home crowd into cloud nine when he pulled parity for the hosts in the 76th minute.
Jordan Ayew, who was enjoying a terrific and blistering night of football, kept terrorizing his former team mates and pushed them in the 84th minute with a magnificent goal to put Lorient into a 4-3 lead.
Two minutes later, Lorient Deepened the woes of Marseille when substitute Autret sealed victory for the less fancied side to leave the results at 5-3 in favour of the visitor, capping a night of incredible football.
