Review : Of Date ur Fada – Ebony

Review : Of Date ur Fada - Ebony

For now, the Ghana music industry has been upgraded to a different level by highly brilliant Ghanaian performers, making everybody from all walks of life to enjoy to the chockablock, the tunes of Africa. Amongst them, is the female dancehall giant who has conceivably made it to the world, the best, Africa can proudly boast of.

Ebony (Reigns) is the fieriest and the youngest fast emerging dancehall songstress with hit songs like “Call It Poison”, “Sponsor” and more. Her latest now, the banger of the moment, the wave with a threat, and the song with a name “date your father” is getting much attention.

The song seems a bit controversial because, some elements of the instrumentation were discovered to be stolen from a different song. This made Kwame Dadzie; a music reviewer pointed out on Facebook saying, some samples of the beat was stolen from Ofori Amponsah’s “Alewa” but Bullet, the manager of Ebony replied to his statement saying the original author of the beat was Atakora Manu and not Ofori Amponsah.

The song was released on the 2nd of September 2017 and has since then been getting much comments. The track is a danceable tune, the instrumental was well constructed and the music itself is very rhythmic, full of suspicious lyrics.

The content although is self-explanatory “If you break my heart I go date your father” which simply means you will regret it later if you dump her, a threat to all guys on behalf of the girls.

The message from the song is to advice all guys to stick to their girls else they will regret it later.
